the remaking of w

I'm a big fan of Stefano Tonchi and the new W Magazine. The logo is beautiful.

I got a haircut. Actually, it looks exactly the same as the haircut I had before I grew my hair out. But it feels fresh. I'm wearing my new Acne shorts and tights.

I only get sick once a year. But it sucks when I do. Things like... breathing... chewing... become such an ordeal. I feel like I need to take a nap. Last night, I mixed Sudafed with Tecate and I thought I was going crazy.

Remember this post I did back in September? And this one?

    ck one is back.

indigo hot pants

My friend Janis gave me this talk while I was in New York. She said, "Lulu, I think you need to be more refined." As Susie would say, "smartening up." When you reach your mid twenties, everything becomes confusing. I mean... you're young... but you're not. You're a grown up... but you're really REALLY not.

Relationships can be just as confusing. One night, he could be telling you, "I want to see you, only you." And the next night, he could be running off to Orange County with a 19-year-old Russian chick who's also banging his cousin and his best friend. It's the truth.

What are the expectations of a mid twenty something anyway? How do you dress? How do you act? Do you really know everything? Or are you just pretending?

I'm sure my latest purchase, a pair of indigo hot pants from Acne, kind of say everything for me. Sorry, Janis. I'll try harder next time.

Rodebjer AW11 boots, Native Son AW11 presentation

Went to four menswear shows, sat behind Anna Wintour, watched Chuck Bass introduce himself to Anna, went to the Jane Hotel way too much, drank WAY TOO MUCH, went to the Purple Magazine party, took pictures in the bathroom of Boom Boom Room, made out with a boy in the back of a taxi, went to a meeting, went to a showroom appointment, received a Rodebjer dress as a gift, and ended up at a rave.

Jetsetter.

Laundry outerwear jacket, f21 skirt, GB clogs, random mittens

The best part about this cold weather is getting to wear all my winter jackets and coats! Today I wore Laundry's down feather, faux fur trimmed jacket. It's my go-to outerwear on frigid days like this one! I paired it with a pretty floor length skirt (F21), warm tights, mittens, and Gianni Bini clogs.

    Happy NYFW everyone!

isabel marant ss11

Isabel Marant by Inez & Vinoodh

Favorite campaigns this season: Isabel Marant by Inez & Vinoodh, Proenza Schouler by Willy Vanderperre, and Céline by Juergen Teller. I always list the photographers because I don't think enough credit is given to them. Sometimes, when you stare at so much amateur photography on the net (no more fence pictures please). You forget what really good fashion photography can look like - concept, mood, styling, and lighting.

    Let's never forget.

    Some great photography there.

Wrapped up.

Spent a quiet evening in an H&M cardi, BCBG top, denim shorts, and black oxfords.

More chunky, oversize knits that I love!

I'm attempting to re-design this blog. So look out for little changes in the next week or so.

I like this mention which basically sums up my style as whatever-it-is-that-I'm-into-at-the-time. It's often so hard to define my "style". I guess you could say it's minimal. Or nineties. Although a full blown version of either can be really annoying/ boring. I also like a lot of graphic photography, for example, Maciek Kobielski.

Last week, I learned, first hand, just how difficult it is to get perfect lighting. I like using that word, "learned." I feel like I've been doing a lot of that these past six months. This weekend, I learned that if the only after hours option is Fantasy Factory (a warehouse on Turk & Leavenworth) and I'm out of whiskey. I should probably just go home.

Note to self: (1) Do work instead (2) Buy more whiskey (3) Quit drinking

Here are some behind the scenes pictures taken by make-up artist Tamara Brown. I'm really excited to show you the final result when the issue comes out (end of this month). I was supposed to be wearing Rodebjer S/S 11, but unfortunately, due to the blizzard, we couldn't make that happen. It's okay, the whole thing turned out great. It was shot by my friend Tim, and assisted by my friend Philip (from Tobi!). I'm so lucky to have such creative and talented friends. And now I know what a 40k camera looks like. Did someone say Hasselblad?

Leather & Suede

BCBG jacket + pants, my favorite YSL pumps, random leopard top

Enjoying the semi-cold weather in a BCBG nude leather jacket and a pair of black suede pants. I know. It's rare to see me wear PANTS on my blog! This little suede number (one of my favorites) fits great and are super comfortable. Surprisingly, I don't own too many skin hugging pants. I hate shopping for them because it's so hard to find the perfect pair!

I hope everybody is having a happy new year so far. I can't believe February is only a few days away! What a shocker.
