A few of the random things I've purchased in the past few weeks. Basic goodies for the every day "sort of fashion" in me. I want to take pictures of all the lovely things I got this week, but the rain insists on ruining my life again.

You're so pretty you make me want to cry...

    Men's Non No, Tune

I did a little "reading" yesterday at the Japanese bookstore. 1. I found my future husband in the Seven Stars cigarette ad and blushed a little bit. 2. I just like his outfit. I would wear it.

    Spring feels like Fall.

I just got back from New York. I had an audition and a brief meeting and I think it all went pretty well. Sorry to be so vague. I promise I'm not weird or emo. I just haven't slept more than 4 hours every night for the past week. I feel like I have psychic powers AND like I just got punched in the face... at the SAME TIME.

This trip kind of made realize what I hate about Asian men. Duh, I love Asian men. I think they're beautiful. But there is a subculture of Asian American men boys that work in finance or on Wall Street that is just so disgusting to me. They treat girls with such blatant disrespect. And they want to act like "bad boys" because they are just really insecure. Why? There are plenty of girls who value a man with a successful job and a stable income. Not everyone wants to go on tour with the band. But let's not forget, just because you act like a complete dick, doesn't mean you are a P.I.M.P. You don't deal drugs or make out with groupies. You wear chinos and you work at the bank. Respect who you are. And respect your women.

I want to talk about my new shoes. But I'll save that for a later post.

Nude, grey, and speckles in between.

Another pair of shorts for this heart-warming weather! In this look, I am wearing pleated trouser shorts (BCBG) paired with a draping vintage top in a nude tone. Other accessories includes a cheetah printed belt, speckled socks, and wooden heel wedges from Michael Kors.

Everyone always asks me what music is in the background. Today is Bodies Without Organs. Good 'ol Swedish synthpop. And yes... that is REALLY my ringtone.

    Thoughts while making this:
When I say "McQueen" out loud I sound like a douche. So I cut that part out. I need one of those Isabella Blow type accents. Instead, I sound like this.
Damn, I have a lot of hair.
I love that when the lyrics say "When you're in New York..." it's when I'm talking about New York. That was unintentional, but kind of great.

I'm wearing my new Little Rooms bangle courtesy of the amazing Ester. See if you can spot it in the video. We've also collaborated on a limited edition line of jewelry for Little Rooms. More details in the upcoming month!!! The countdown has started!!!

    PS: I can sketch like a motherf--ker.

DOTS GO WELL WITH DOTS

    Ph: Cody Rasmussen

I'm wearing my favorite CdG Tricot dress, American Apparel socks from Camille, Chloe boots, and my Chris Habana cross cuff. My friend Cody and I got together to shoot some pictures. He's an amazing photographer and the nicest guy you'll ever meet. I'm excited to work with him, that is, unless he's traveling to Moscow or other parts of the world. Hopefully, we'll be able to get in a couple more outfits.

In the meantime, amuse yourself with these awesome hair tutorials. They are my new obsession.

    1. I found the most wonderful leopard coat while thrifting. It was only $30 and it has this huge oversized collar which flips up. It's difficult for me to find fur coats which don't make me look like some kind of small large animal.
    2. The Asian Art Museum was having a special exhibition on Shanghai art. And since I am Shanghainese and since I may have attempted to sketch something while drunk before... this was practically made for me!
PS: If you assumed that the lights on this piece would turn on one by one. Don't worry, I did too. I stood there for about 5 minutes waiting for the lights to change, but they never did. Then I just felt stupid.

    1. These Topshop earrings weigh a ton.
    2. Never go to Safeway when it's midnight and you're really thirsty. Pomegranate juice tastes best when mixed with flavored soda water.
    3. Last night we watched Kalup Linzy (see him in the Proenza Schouler video here) perform at the BAM. We thought we saw Ryan McGinley. But it turned out to be some guy in an anorak.
    4. After several pathetic trips to Borders, I finally decided to buy this book. Basically, it'll tell you everything about yourself based on the day you were born. In case you can't read that, it says "Although friendly and charming, you may also need to learn that the world does not revolve around you." POSSIBLY TRUE.

I know it's been awhile since I've done a proper outfit post. It's been really busy and exciting working on some soon to be revealed projects. A lot of people ask how I'm doing post-breakup, and I think I'm doing just fine.

I had planned to wear this outfit to film something last night... but realized that I blended into the wall too much. Out of all the days, I ever/ never wear taupe.

I also recently got contacts. Around midnight, I started seeing streetlights as more of... giant expanding red meteors coming at my face. Is this normal? Probably not.

    Do you like my hair?
