For the chilly days.

    Rodarte for Target Review:

    1. Leopard Print Lace Dress:
pros: I love lovee the fit of this dress and the whole leopard print thing was just perfect.
cons: I thought the color of the dress was a more yellow than I expected it to be. Also some of the colors on this particular dress was smeared with one another..making parts of it greenish looking??

    2. Black Slip Lace Dress:
pros: One thing I like about this dress is its unique design(lace, tulle, bows). Definitely something I would wear to a dinner party.
cons: The top part of the lace slip is a tad bit complicating because it is way too big. Not a good choice for girls with a smaller chest size. Also, you would have to find the perfect strapless bra so it wouldn't reveal itself underneath the lace part of the slip.

    3. & 4. Lace Halter Dress in black and floral
pros: Very girly and pretty. The fit was just right. Although the chest part is a little snugged on me.
cons: The top part might be too tight for girls with a larger chest size.

    5. Sequined Leopard Dress
pros: Quality and detail of the dress is executed very well. (Although my phone cam didn't do it any justice)
cons: Very very low cut. (Unless it's flattering on you..then go for it!)

    6. Lace Print Dress
pros: Big fan of the black and neutral color scheme. The pretty lace pattern is very versatile for all seasons.
cons: The waistline didn't cinch where I wanted it to.

    7. Skeleton Rib Cage Dress (not in stock)
pros: What is there not to like about sparkles + ribcage design?
cons: Might not be a good investment staple to transition you through each season.

Down By The River

Feelin' the blue and the dots and the Japanese steez

I'm back from Hawaii. I miss our suite already. And the weather. AND the beach. Check out Sushi Izakaya Gaku for the best grilled stingray and beer.

I was stuck at the airport for like 5,000 years of my life. We waited for our flight for so long I thought I was going to pass out from exhaustion and general pissed off-ness. Everytime the boyfriend looked at me he'd tell me "you need to calm down." All I could come up with as a response was "you're a buttface."

    Clearly, I need sleep.

Heidi and I went thrifting right before I left for vacation. I found this shirt for $3... kind of Ann D. The weather makes dressing very easy and carefree. Special hi to my reader who spotted us outside the line for Avatar. Ray has been working on this movie for the past several months, but I wasn't allowed to talk about it - he and his company did the visual effects.

I know there is a ton of work left to do once I'm back in California. But seriously, everyone deserves a vacation right? Right.

DIY Patterned Wool Pants

Things You will need: A sweater with patterned sleeves, scissors, boy shorts or any stretchy shorts, thread, needle

Step 1: Start by laying patterned sweater on a flat surface.

Step 2. Locate the crease of the sleeves and where the main body of the sweater meets.

    Step 3.
Cut and detach both the right and left sleeves (approximately two inches above crease line).

Step 4. Begin by tucking one of the patterned sleeve underneath the hem of the shorts. Using your thread and needle, simply sew the sleeve against the hem. Repeat the process on the other side.

    Step 5.
Voila! You have chic and comfortable patterned wooly pants that you can wear with a long knitted top! Perfect for the winter season. (Please link back to BTS when using this tutorial. Thankss!)

I feel like I get a lot of emails and questions regarding the makeup I wear. So I thought I'd do a little insight into how I apply everything. Apologies for the absence, I've been in Hawaii for the past several days. And while the internet is free, much of my time has been spent pathetically trying to cop a tan and stuffing my face with Hawaiin bbq and shave ice. Mahalo!

Base - I use Bare Escentuals powder and mineral veil in Light. I'm naturally pretty pale, and I like it that way (except when I'm in Oahu).

Cheeks - I use Nars in Amour and apply using a large brush on the top of my cheekbones.

Eyes - I start with Nars in Mogambo, a dark brown/ gold color eyeshadow duo. I use a medium eyeshadow brush and apply the gold color from the lid and work up. I use my finger to blend all the way to just below the eyebrow. I also apply generously to the bottom part of the eye. I use another medium eyeshadow brush and apply the dark brown color to the outside of the lid, blending to about mid eye. I also apply generously to the bottom part of the eye, over the gold and use my finger to blend.

Then, I apply Mac Fluidline in Noir, with a Mac eyeliner brush, to either (or both!) the top and bottom part of the eye. If I do both top and bottom, I don't do a cateye. But usually, I prefer a cat eye effect. Shu Uemura eyelash curler and any mascara will do.

Lips - I start with chapstick, and apply either Lancome Juicy Tubes in Spring Fling or Mac Lustre line lipstick in Lustering depending on my mood, or Chanel lipstick in Fire when I need a good go-to red color. Or Julie Hewett's Cheekie lip stain, as I've mentioned before. In this picture, I'm wearing Lustering.

Easy as folk.

I decided to do an update on my new DIY patterned wool pants! Very tribal-esque looking huh? I love it that they are so cozy to lounge around in.

Sometimes what I think is funny isn't really that funny.

I'm wearing this sweater, T by Alexander Wang t-shirt, Zara python pants, and Ashish leopard platforms. I'll get the boyfriend to take pictures later. Also ordered some new jewelry from Bonadrag here and here.

I won this Comme des Garcons tricot blue dot dress the other day. Speaking of which, my friends at the BLACK CdG store have started a blog here. Check it out. Shop. Make Lulu jealous.

Late Night Television

    12.04.09

I made this video last night while playing around with my new Macbook, a gift courtesy of my boyfriend. We both think Olivia Munn, the host of G4's Attack of the Show is really hot. We were watching Lopez Tonight while waiting for her to come on. The whole video is kind of pointless.

Hair etc etc etc

I recently had my hair re-done. As you can see, the color is a bit more natural. I had Sonya at Oxenrose add a subtle "fade" that goes from dark to light. Eventually I want to re-lighten the bottom for even more contrast.

I could have bought a handbag by now. But instead I just have really awesome hair. Thanks Sonja! Have fun traveling through Asia!
