New things

    le fashion

I'm really excited to glam things up for the fall. I've already been collecting pieces, starting with that red silk jacket and a vintage leopard coat I still need to pick up. This Georgia May Jagger editorial features the Balenciaga Fall 2009 collection which totally embodies the phrase "the good life." Imagine lounging around, petting your exotic animal as pet, drinking champagne with your 24k gold face. Aaaaaahhhh...

Have you taken a look at the shoe shop lately? There are some pretty amazing shoes that have yet to be claimed. These are a few of my favorites - Emma Cook x Topshop boots, Alexander Mcqueen goddess heels, and the elusive Chanel lucite patent wedges. Click and search by designer.

My current laptop wallpaper and Gmail. Everything is beach themed. This has nothing to do with my resolution to dress more "glam." But, just like a Bloody Mary, things in life don't really need to make sense.

Bed jacket

Kain pocket tank, vintage silk 1920s jacket, Soixante Nouf hammered ring, vintage silver ring, red cord bracelets with Astley Clarke pendents

My attempt at getting boozed up and wandering around the city drunk shopping started off slow. Somebody should have told me Bloody Marys are disgusting. It's kind of like biting into a hot dog and having it taste like cake. Tomato juice and alcohol do not make sense to me.

The day picked up when we went to my absolute favorite vintage shop, La Rosa on Haight. I purchased this silk chiffon bed jacket which is super pretty and delicate. Two adjectives which describe me perfectly, of course. HAH.

Well, everyone except my best friend has left me for Comic-Con. What's a girl to do?

Pour some fruit juice in my teacup.

I decided to make a high waisted skirt from some leftover fabric my mom had in storage. I'm not sure what my mom was planning to do with pattern that resembles some old lady's antique chinaware..but I kinda like it paired with this fuchsia tank I snatched up from the good ole GAP. It was on sale for only $15 buckeroos!

Stripey

RVCA tank in gray, vintage stripe pants, Pedro Garcia boots, Litter shoe jewelry

Do you like my hair? Courtesy of the lovely Nicole at Stilo Salon (I know you guys like recommendations... go to her for all your 'did' needs... she's great.)

I've wanted stripey pants for a long time. But it's been hard to find a pair that didn't make me look like I just stepped out of Hot Topic. Although, Heidi argues that since we are no longer 16-years-old, the Hot Topic "image" no longer applies to us. Thus, we are free shop there all we want. This makes sense, I think?

LITTER

Litter shoe jewelry, Pedro Garcia boots

I paid a visit to the Litter girls today. They hooked me up with some amazing shoe, leg, and headgear for an upcoming photoshoot. Mackenzie and Rachael are so sweet, gorgeous, and TALL. Haha, thank you ladies!

I did an in-person interview today. I'm afraid in-person interviews are the worst for me because that's when I'm actually the most honest. And let's face it, the more honest you are, the less cool you sound.

Flying

    Hisham Bharoocha

    I'm in a good mood.

No rhinestones

Sowat angel dust ring & bracelet

There are very few things I love more than jewelry. I wish I could say the same for nice handbags. Right now, my neverending collection of free tote bags seems to be fighting my doorknob for complete control. Anyways, I discovered this little label from Paris last week called Sowat. They make really amazing jewelry (like the angel theme pieces above) for the seemingly average cost of 45 Euros. Not bad...

I just want to be...

I've been kind of out it music-wise - a while back my friend J at Universal recommended I listen to Drake. I hate that one song they play on the radio all day. But I like this one...

Al's party

    "When is the party?"

"I think it says on the flyer"

"Can't see shit on the flyer."

sweetheart.

Western wear

Vintage chambray men's western shirt, Topshop shorts, Chloe booties, Number (N)ine bracelet, antique cross bracelet, silver hammered ring

So today I was doing a little mid-afternoon reading, browsing, and catching up on all things internet. The boys at Scoute posted this fantastic tribute in words on Number (N)ine's last days. It is a great read for those who are unfamiliar with the brand and its designer, Takahiro Miyashita.
    • This is quite possibly my new favorite shirt.
    • I'm very into the idea of humanizing the fashion industry. I was watching this Modelinia video on Dree Hemingway, since everyone on the internet seems to talk about her. I thought it was extremely disappointing and substanceless. As my friend, Philip would say, beware of people who love EVERYTHING.
    • This video on Noot Seear is much better.
    • Thanks to Ursa who featured me in ELLE Slovenia today. Looks great!
    • I hope everyone is having a good Friday, I'm off to watch Bruno and eat Mexican food now.

Good advice

Erin Wasson x RVCA dress, drug store tights, Chloe boots, vintage cross necklace, vintage gold necklaces

I took the advice of some readers and had this dress properly hemmed. What a difference a few inches make.

Last night, I had dinner with an old friend. I use the term "friend" semi-loosely. He enjoys bringing me pearls of wisdom in the form of:

    "Women love the drama."
"You can never get enough porn."
    and my personal favorite...
"Shutup, you don't know what you're talking about."

I'm pretty sure this is why we don't hang out very often. Or, that I will have dinner with just about anyone.

Partners in crime

A few months ago, David at POP Magazine asked me to partner with them to launch what is now THEPOP.COM. And while my portion is still in the works... if I don't respond to your email in weeks and months it means I love you. Really. I'm thrilled to support this new platform. And in such esteemed company - Jak & Jil, A Magazine, to name a few.

But let's get one thing straight: this blog will always and forever remain my home. Never making that mistake... twice. God.

Don't worry, it's legal

    4th of July

    ... I think.

Super easy

Uniqlo plaid flannel, drug store opaque tights, Erin Wasson x RVCA cut-offs, Chloe boots, round sunglasses handmade in Carmel

I used to wear denim shorts and tights all the time. I don't know why I stopped... super easy.
    • Excited for my new Pedro Garcia ankle booties.
    • The store is updated here.
    • We celebrated 4th of July by blowing up stuff in my parking lot, cool.
    • Currently listening to: Santogold "You'll find a way" (Switch & Graeme remix)
    • Thinking about doing some menswear suggestions for those that asked. Yes?

Easy summer

I decided that I wanted an easy, relaxed summer - this weekend, for example, I've been living in my new favorite cardigan from Henrik Vibskov and light denim skinnies courtesy of RVCA. I'm not into concepts these days. Just easy seperates to get me through the week. With a healthy dose of bling, of course. - Lulu

I am loving these Sheefun for Ann-Sofie Back earrings (as seen on Kate Moss). My ear holes have long since closed up, but these almost make me want to pierce them again... and again... and again.
I posted about these Topshop gym shorts before. And I finally bought them! They are so comfortable and nicely fitted. Not your average pair of gym shorts, for sure.

I think chambray is such an underrated fabric. Maybe not too many women are into it because it's not the softest thing to wear. But the look is totally cool, denim-like, material. These particular shirts come from Uniqlo. To be paired with my little gym shorts.

After trading in my Cyclopse last month, I can't help it, I still want this YSL ring.

    Anyways, HAPPY 4TH!

One button

Henrik Vibskov cardigan, Erin Wasson x RVCA knit skirt, thrifted vest, Number (N)ine snakeskin bracelet, vintage Taxco bracelet, antique cross bracelet, silver hammered ring, Chloe boots

Super busy day ahead. I picked up this single button vest while thrifting (a rare occurance). My new favorite thing - I need more vests.
